NPRA Is Outraged – Revolted - Puzzled
The National Puerto Rican Agenda is outraged, revolted and puzzled by the platforming of remarks by a Tony Hinchcliffe, at a presidential campaign rally, Sunday at Madison Square Garden, New York. Why a presidential campaign would allow fellow Latino Americans to be lied about while trying to court the Latino community, is as bewildering as the remarks were despicable.
What a shame the rally in New York couldn’t get a real comedian to open the show. I suppose we should say too bad the rally sponsors had to use an old idea and venue, brought to you by Fritz Kuhn and the 1939 Americans for Hitler crew. I hear they wanted to make America great again too.
And here we are today.
Message to Hinchcliffe: No one in their right mind would come to New York to tell bad lies about Puerto Ricans. You could do that at home or in all the little clubs you play…
Mr. Hinchcliffe, with his surly yet pitiful attempt to seem knowledgeable, has some major holes where his facts ought to be. Like many haters, his specific knowledge of American history is also full of holes.
Every ethnic group in the United States except one, migrated here and so we are ALL immigrants. We are a nation of immigrants, and that statement includes white Anglo Saxon protestants who also migrated here, often to escape religious or ethnic persecution. And we should all thank the Original Americans, Native Americans for helping so many of us. Hinchcliffe would do well to shut his mouth and open his ears to absorb as much of our country’s history as he possibly can. It might help him develop an actual sense of humor.
Gratuitous ethnic trashing is not humor. Throwing pies in people’s faces used to amuse – but that was in the early 1900s. Today it is seen for what it is – cheap. Hinchcliffe took cheap shots and the crowd that laughed or applauded - should also get a life.
NPRA President Nilda Ruiz said, “It is so clear that this was an unprovoked, un-funny, unnecessary attack on Latino Americans and Puerto Ricans specifically. And when you must do that, you tell the world you have no real talent. Go home – get better - and let us know when you develop some genuine wit and humor.”
This kind of forced attempt at negative attention-getting, may be why this rally was held in New York’s Madison Square Garden in the first place. It’s the scene of a disgraceful moment in American History, in 1939, when Hitler was on the march, attacking Czech Sudetenland, taking Austria, preparing to attack Poland, soon bringing England to declare war. And there in New York at the very same time, The German American Bund, led by Fritz Kuhn rallies allegiance to Germany.
Look at this Now. See it for what it is - damnable and must be condemned.
Attacking the island of Puerto Rico for nothing ---
How dare you?
Who are you?
And what to say about Latino and Puerto Ricans who support you?
Wake Up Boricuas - Wake UP America – clearly see these guys can’t make a living without trashing us.
The fact Hinchcliffe needed to add leud and lascivious remarks to his tired, stereotypical, old-fashioned cracks on the Puerto Rican and Latino Community, is yet another sign of no real talent.
The fact that his act was allowed to continue during such cultural stupidity, is a clear sign of the moral bankruptcy of the rally’s producers.
Hinchcliffe’s act is so clearly bereft of real wit as we see in the mendacity of his attacking the entire Island of Puerto Rico and its people. Though outrageously stupid, it does not hide the fact that he still needs to go back to Clown School.
As a matter of fact, Puerto Rico is the home of some of our finest innovators and leaders. It is also the home of natural wonders from world renowned surf, harbors and natural rain forest to a list of luminaries lighting the skies throughout the world.
Taking cheap shots does not make you talented. It makes you look desperate. What a shame the rally organizers couldn’t find a real comedian. Perhaps they should call the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce, for their list of fabulous Puerto Rican comedians and other stars of the entertainment world. Rita Moreno, Ricky Martin, Jose Feliciano, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Lin Manuel, Quiara Hudas, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Bad Bunny, Luis Fonsi, so many more. Or you could run old tapes of Freddie Prinze, Tito Puente, Roberto Clemente – If you weren’t so busy hating Puerto Ricans, you might actually be able to get some top talent at your little rallies.
Trashing fellow American is just not a good idea. It’s old, it’s boring.
Far more intriguing is discovering all the treasures this country had the vision to gather to its shores. We became great for the same reasons that we ARE great NOW. It’s because we embrace anyone with great ideas, great talents and great heart. Innovators and people of vision came here looking for the freedom to be themselves and to become the extraordinary leaders the world reveres and needs. People count on the United States for these extraordinary people
and no amount of attempted divisive trashing and references to garbage, will cover that up. It only makes you look like someone trying to divide people by carrying garbage into their homes.
